Food labels: what to prepare
Selling packaged food in Mexico? Ask your importer to check whether NOM-051 applies to the exact product. Prepare the Spanish label, ingredient and allergen details, nutrition information and importer details. Bulk food and food packed at the point of sale are outside this standard; other rules may still apply.
For nutrition-profile assessment, the published phase-two period runs through 31 December 2027; phase three starts on 1 January 2028. Have the exact warning labels and any exemption checked before printing. This guide does not calculate or approve them.

COFEPRIS: check the product before choosing a procedure
Ask the Mexican importer to check the exact product, tariff fraction and NICO, composition, use and customs regime against the current health-control rules. A food or cosmetic product name alone does not tell you whether a permit or notice is required.
If a control applies, confirm the procedure, required documents and submission channel. COFEPRIS publishes a current product-permit page; notices and sampling or release procedures are separate. Do not use one procedure’s timing as a promise of import or customs clearance.
